Howdy everyone!
Hope you all are doing well in this beautiful day!
I am also doing great Alhamdulillah by the grace of Allah!
Today I am back with another really cool but interesting topic for you guys!
Our today’s topic is really necessary to read for everyone. If you are planning to get an aquarium or if you already have an aquarium, I believe our today’s topic will be really worth reading!
So what is our topic?
Well if you already haven’t read my blogs yet, Let me introduce myself to you guys, I am Imran who has been working with aquarium and fishes for around 10 years by now. A lot of fish I have personally kept and a lot I have seen and know about. You can trust me in this segment easily!
Well our today’s topic is about what facts to notice while buying your favorite dream fish from your aquarium fish shop!
There are a lot of factors to watch out from when you are buying a fish for the aquarium.
And if you are new in this hobby, then this blog is more important for you!
I believe you won’t face any more issue while buying fish if you read out this simple blog!
So let’s start our blog!
First point-
Do your homework properly. If you have a dream fish, read blogs out of the internet to get the accurate news and facts about them. If the fish fit’s for the requirements you can buy that. Otherwise don’t just buy a fish which you can not take care of.
Second Point-
There is no need to rush while you buy your dream fish. Take your time. Your local fish store will probably restock fish every week and the fish you are willing to get, will probably come back next week or soon. So for this time, observe your fish. Look carefully at your fish if it’s movements are free or not. If it’ moving actively here or there. Mainly look at if your fish is moving freely or not. A healthy fish will move freely everywhere!
Third point-
Look at the fishes fins and Dorsal fins. Have a closely observation over the fish you are willing to buy so. Look at it’s fins if they are damaged or not. Sometimes because of keeping with other fishes, your selected fish could be damaged or harmed. Sometimes it can cause infections.
So make sure to look at your dream fish from every angle before buying it. If it has some problem, wait until you get a proper healthy fish!
Fourth Point-
If the fish is sitting at one corner, not moving at all, this might be for two reasons.
Either this fish is sick or this fish is stressed out. When the fish is stressed out, it can have some issues like not eating or color getting fade. If your fish is stressed out, please make sure to keep it in the right temperature and right PH. It is really necessary!
Fifth Point-
Make sure that the packaging your fish is coming with is properly maintained. I know a lot of you might ask what type of factor is this!
Well if the packaging is not properly maintained such as proper oxygen is not given when packed or it is squished , make sure to look at this factors!
Point Six and the last one-
Check if there any white spot over your fish. Usually white spot is a disease which usually takes place in a situation where their less of aquarium salt in the tank or there is an imbalance of water temperature.
Okay this has been about what to check in fish while buying aquarium fish.
But when you bring back the fish inside your house, Do you know how to put it inside aquarium?
Well if you are new in this hobby, you might not know how to do it properly. But Don’t worry my friend!
I got your back !
What is to do at first is Acclimation!
Don’t know what is acclimation? Well put the polythene bag inside your aquarium when the mouth is closed of it obviously.
But make sure your tank is cycled properly. If you don’t know what tank cycling means, you must read my blog in my website where I have written about all the details of tank cycling.
So when you add the polythene bag inside your aquarium, the water temperature will eventually come down to same temperature as it is in the tank. This is a really important thing to do.
Some people also do drift acclimation where they put the aquarium fish in a separate bowl and then through a pipe, the aquarium water is dropped in the bowl by drops. This also helps the fish to get adjusted to the aquarium water temperature.
Another good idea which I can recommend that, You can keep the fish in a separate tank which eventually means that you can have a acclimation tank which can eventually help you to find out of your fish has some bacteria with it or not by observing at it for 2 to 3 days!
Well if you follow the written steps, I believe next time when you buy a fish, you would not be facing any bit of issue!
