Like every other day, I am back with another really interesting topic!
Like today’s day, Our today’s guest is really colorful and bright!
Want to meet with him?
Let’s welcome our today’s chief guest the Sunset Wrasse!
The Sunset wrasse is a saltwater fish
which typically found in Indian and pacific oceans. This saltwater really colorful fish usually lives near a reefs. From the analysis I found that this fish are social fishes>
In-case you do not know what is social fish, A social fish is that fish which loves to swim around in bigger schools. Usually a group of 8 to 10 fishes in general.
This saltwater fishes are also known as Banana Wrasse.
Now the question easily arises that if a fish has sunset and banana attached to it, it sure some unique coloration over it’s body right?
Well this it true!
The Saltwater Sunset Wrasse has a combined coloration over it’s body.
The main body has blue coloration and there are various colored stripes all over the body. Usually the facial part has so many stripes. It’s like there is a bandage wrapped all over it’s face. Usually the stripes of the face are Yellow colored and there is also an orange texture there.
This fish has some Yellow color in their fins also. Half blue and half Yellow coloration is seen their.
Rest of the body is blue and some unique coloration it has that is on the Dorsal fins and it’s tail.
There dorsal fin has three colors. Orange, Blue and Yellow.
On the bottom of the dorsal fin , they have orange colors . Over that there is blue and yellow tone over it’s dorsal fin.
And I find the tail most interesting!
The tails have yellow in the middle and two long yellow stripes over two corners of the tail part.
Really cool coloration right?
This beautiful fish will grow up-to 8 to 13 inch’s in captivity. This marine fish are found in various colors and names. I find the Sunset wrasse most interesting in regular terms.
Usually this fish are really active during the day time.
You will see them swimming here and there when there is light around.
Usually this Sunset wrasse can get really aggressive sometimes. It is always better to keep them alone or in pairs.
In wrasses there are some different species of them who needs sand to live!
Now you might ask why sands?
Well there are some species among them who will bury their body in the sand on the night time in order to protect themselves! Mainly this fish are not venomous at all.
In order to keep them in captivity , the minimum size gallon is recommended as 100 gallon. And the PH or Power Of Hydrogen capacity should be in between 8.1 to 8.4 which easily indicates that this fish tends to live mostly in alkaline waters.
This fishes needs plenty of places to hide an plenty of places to swim for. Make sure to add living corals and this fish won’t gonna hurt the corals at all.
In-fact they are reef safe fish!
When in terms of diet, this fish are carnivorous. Which means they love to have the meaty treats.
What you can usually feed them is processed shrimps, or Mysis. Some wrasse will also eat microinverts from the aquarium.
Really cool fish to have!
