The Emperor Angelfish!

Howdy everyone!

Hope you all are doing well in this beautiful day!

To make your day a bit more interesting I am back with another interesting topic!

You all might have heard about the Angelfish! Pretty common fish right?

Well not to mention, more or less you guys might of heard of this angelfish with thin body , black and white colors, sometimes Albino right?

Well our today’s topic is about Angelfish but of this type!

It’s the saltwater angelfish named Emperor Angelfish!

I believe a lot of you might have seen this fish one pictures or movies or in your nearest fish store.

So let’s not waste any bit of time and straight dive into the topic!

Emperor Angelfish is a saltwater fish which is mostly found in the indo-pacific region. It’s a really unique categorized fish which has three different coloration in it’s three stages of life!

How fascinating is that?

Well let me describe in details!

When the emperor angelfish is at it’s juvenile form,

it is usually small and the coloration of that fish get unbelievable! It has mainly two coloration format over it’s body back then. Usually it’s deep blue and white. You might think what is so special about Blue and White coloration!

Well if you see the pattern they get over blue and white coloration is too much pretty! And they are so different from their Aged version that most of the people thinks that they are two different species.

Even at first I thought also the same like every other person does!

Okay here comes the middle age version. The middle age version has no similarities with the juvenile but quite close in coloration with the elder version. It’s more towards the elder version to be honest.

The middle age Emperor Angelfish has a coloration more towards yellow with slightly bluish pattern.

Which usually indicates that this fish gets more of a yellow coloration when they grow older. t has a light yellowish coloration over it’s body which often comes in more highlight than the blue coloration. Such a beautiful fish!

Okay next comes the Last or the

most elder stage! The  most beautiful stage I believe. And It’s the most demanded stage of all time!

I believe you are now knowing the fact that the Emperor angelfish has it’s most unique and beautiful coloration at it’s older form!

Usually the older form has all kinds of coloration which makes the fish looking bright and bold!

It has more bright blue tone and yellow tone get’s more of a personality at this stage. Such a beautiful fish to keep and that’s why they have the most expensive price-tag labeled over them. They usually can grow up-to 15 inch’s which is quite big for an angelfish in the wild.

When kept under captivity this fish can l be up-to 12 inch’s

and this is the average size of a regular emperor angelfish. And also they can live up-to 20 years inside your aquarium when the pristine water condition is maintained.

This fish on stores mostly are found in the adult stage and that is the reason why most of the people thinks that the other two stages fish is of different species!

The Emperor angelfish mostly lives near reef and corals when they are at their juvenile and middle aged form. Cleaning out the reef becomes their main duty and they often hide in between the corals.

The adult fish is more of an outside swimmer which indicates that this fish swims outside the reef area and joins other areas.

The male emperor angelfish is really territorial and holds it’s territory up-to 10,000 square feet that they are willingly only sharing to some other females only. This fish get’s big so keeping them in captivity can be really challenging as far I know. Atleast a 200 gallon tank will be required if you want to keep a Adult pair. It will help a fish owner is such a ways that, bigger swimming space will let the fish be stress free and keeping the water atmosphere clean can be an easy task when you offer a bigger tank for this big fishes.

Keeping live corals inside this emperor angelfish tank can bring a issue as they can sometimes destroy the corals. My recommendation will be to add artificial corals as the wont grow and this fish will require a lot of space to swim by. A proper strong filter will be good for them and the lighting system needs to be quite strong and vibrant as lights are required for them. Lights will help them to keep healthy and also the coloration will pop at it’s max level!

The water temperature will be best in between 22 degree Celsius to 28 degree Celsius!

This Emperor angelfish is omnivorous which means they need both food and plant diet. A mix of spinach and shrimps will do good for this fish. Also you can add some processed food found on your local fish store. But my recommendation will be to ask the local fish store about food by telling them that you are searching for a food option for your majestic emperor angelfish!

It’s always good to be safe when starting!

Really cool fish to keep! If you have enough money and patients , This dreamy fishes are recommended to keep for sure!
